*Better Late than Never*
Well, Harrison is pushing 8 months and I am just now getting his nursery photos posted.
To be honest his room wasn't even ready until he was about 4 1/2 months old. (reminder: we moved right before his 2 month birthday)
Early on we had a great vision that Harrison would become a global citizen, a lover of all people, and a missionary. Even when others prayed for him when he was still in the whom they heard from the Lord that he would have an adventurous spirit.
We then decided that, an adventure theme was a MUST for his future nursery.
The first thing you see when you walk into the nursery are these sweet crosses, and verses that were given to us by loving friends.
These crosses set the tone of what we pray for Harrison.
How amazing is the left side of the room...
We spent a significant amount of time researching the 'perfect crib'. We ended up purchasing a Munire crib from a sweet little boutique in San Antonio,TX.
The bedding was made by 'G' {my mama, H's grandmama}
She did an amazing job on every little detail. I love the unique map fabric. Plus how special is it that my mama took time, effort, and love to create this bedding.
This is my favorite part of the nursery:
These beautiful paintings made especially for Harrison! They represent our 'global citizen', and adventure theme to a T.
The small paintings read: dream big. adventure out. play often. work hard.
Our talented friend, Jenny created these. You can contact her here.
The suitcases were thrifted by yours truly. After searching and searching, I finally snatched all three for $35. The globe was actually in my older brother's childhood bed room. The sweet letter H came from a dear friend, and the small box is filled with letters, notes, and dreams for baby H from all of our baby showers.
Moving to the right side of the room...
My sweet hubby hung these airplanes that were purchased at hobby lobby. I first got the idea to hang vintage airplanes when I saw them in an antique shop, but they were selling for $75 a pop! They were much more reasonable at hobby lobby!
This wall hanging shelf was thrifted, but it's originally from Pottery Barn.
Our changing table was given to us by friends in the hill country.
I scored this 'anywhere' chair from Pottery Barn outlet, and got it embroidered at a local shop.
This entire nursery wouldn't of been possible if it weren't for friends and family! I love how the Lord graciously put together each and every detail and makes this space so unique and special for our little adventurer.

LOVE LOVE LOVE, Teressa! The suitcases are amazing. My favorite part is the map, too. What a unique way to represent your prayers for your son. It's awesome to see parents putting thought about their child's personality into his room, where he will grow and learn about the adventures God has for him. Keep sharing!

ReplyDeletelove it!! i have an old vintage airplane that was in chase's room growing up that would be perfect. question - how necessary (or unnecessary!) are mobiles? i want to make one but can't figure out if it would go above the crib or the changing table. so many decisions! :)
